It’s not only an electric beauty but also a solar assisted ride. The next generation of every-day cars in our near future called The Lightyear One. Today it’s a promising prototype with a plan to hit the roads in 2021.

First of all, it’s a plug-in electric that boasts 450-miles of range & features integrated solar panels all over the body. The car is powered by a 4-pack of electric motors & goes from 0-62 in 10 seconds. The solar panels can supply the car with up to 12 km of range per hour because the solar cells are up to 20% more efficient than the standard.

Rides from the Lightyear comes from a radically different perspective. The aim is to optimize efficiency and safety. Lightyear started from scratch, following not convention but only the laws of physics, to get the most out of every joule of energy. Lightyear One will get to a range of 725 km on the WLTP cycle. The manufacturers guarantees at least 400km in winter, at highway speeds and with the heating on. Mostly, the range will be between 500 and 800 kilometers.

There is a pre-order open for the first 500 cars.
